I've been travelling a lot recently and get very little time to read things. Especially surfing Reddit. Today, I came across an AMA Peter Thiel has done 8 years ago and it's filled with gems. I'm adding the screenshots below.

7. Picture of the week:- A quick story on Hawa Mahal, Jaipur

• Hawa Mahal is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen. It’s one of the biggest tourist attractions of Jaipur

• It was built in 1799 and the goal behind the 953 small windows was to let the royal ladies enjoy the festivals and street view without being seen.

• But then the architecture and smaller windows created the Venturi Effect.

  • 

    Which then made the whole place less hot during the summers. Good stuff.

  • And that’s how it got it’s name. Hawa Mahal.
