Essay of the week - A Philosophy I follow
One of the philosophies I always follow is Do things that most are not doing.
Think Differently.
That’s all. That’s my philosophy to life.
I look at everyone around me and I figure what is something that majority of people are doing.
I find it and do something differently.
That’s how I got myself internship at a startup within the first 6 months after joining college when everyone else was joining some commerce club.
Doing something different is how I started reading.
The rule of 10.
If you are in a room of 10 people and 9 people have the same opinion, then be the 10th person to raise an argument against that opinion.
Think differently also comes with its side effects.
I’ve always been a misfit. An outlier. An imposter.
For a very long time, I thought of that as a problem and I was unable to solve it.
When I started backpacking India, I came to peace with it.
This is the way.
"The ability to perceive or think differently is more important than the knowledge gained" - David Bohm
I had put out this tweet 👇 and got 30+ responses.
Here are 10 amazing philosophies you can follow:
A great man is hard on himself. A small man is hard on others.
This too shall pass.
Death is closer than you think.
Only worry about things you can control.
Live and Let Live.
You suffer more often in imagination than in reality.
Treat someone like you want to be treated.
Happiness = Reality - Expectations.
Seek pain.
Nothing is permanent.
Thank you to all the friends who replied to the tweet and shared their philosophies.
